Fils d’un circassien, Isidort se voit obligé de suivre une scolarité sédentaire. Après l’accident de son père, fini les voyages, les leçons en roulotte, la vie nomade. Isidort doit rejoindre une classe en pleine année scolaire. Et autant dire que l’adaptation ne se passe pas sans accrocs ! L’histoire d’Isidort, c’est entre ombre et lumière qu’elle se raconte, sous les mains virtuoses de trois marionnettistes musicien·ne·s qui utilisent le théâtre d’ombres pour aborder avec drôlerie, subtilité et simplicité le thème de l’intégration scolaire. Steven Matthews signe une mise en scène astucieuse, bricolée à grand renfort de lampes de poches et rétroprojecteurs où la musique jouée en live amène son supplément d’âme. Pas besoin d’être grand pour comprendre que toutes ces petites choses font un bien fou.
